mail call!

well me oh my! i am new to this bloggie thing and i didn't have any idea about all the friends i would make! today my mama brought the mail in and she brought me this envelope with *my* name on it!

it was from the rocky creek scotties! there was a card and this handsome scarf that i am modeling here:

friends with stripes

my friend stuart blogged today about lights for safety. it was on his gift idea list. well it got my mama thinking. we go camping lots and the last time this little guy invaded our campsite.
she wouldn't let me anywhere near him...something about i would not be allowed in the tent if i got sprayed - i didn't see a hose, so i don't know what she was talkin about. so she's gettin me a light so she can keep track of me when we are camping so i won't get sprayed.

my toys...

this is my toy basket, and those are my toys. sometimes i like to get every last toy out and scatter em all over the living room. anybody else do that? hey - that tan thing on the right side of the picture is a camel carcass. that's right - i killed a camel. i'm pretty fierce when i want to be!

a friendly reminder to mum...

today on my walkie mum was draggin me along, not giving me but a second to check some pee-mail...muttering about how she had things to do at home and being in a hurry. i gently reminded her that daily walkies are not just about her fitness but also about me being a doggie and needing to get some energy out and just be me...i reminded her that it's important sometimes to just be in the moment and stop to smell the roses if you will. it's not really going to matter tomorrow if the dishes got done, or the laundry put away is it? but spending quality time on a walk with me will! i'm a scottie, so i'm pretty wise - she just forgets sometimes...

see this box? it has my name on it! it's from my friend jazzi for her christmas exchange...she had my name.
mum helped me with the tape on the outside and then left it to me to open the pressies - look at all those pressies!

i got two sqeeky toys, a blankie, some homemade cookies (mmm! nom nom!)a chewie, a pillow and a stocking - and guess what it says? edgar! it has my very own name on it! the most specialest part is that i think jazzi's mom made the pillow and the stocking and the little scottie sqeeky toy...and the cookies. she made those things just special for me! and she even sent some things for my mum! see?

i don't know if you can see it, but that thing in the back says "my cute edgar" (that's me!) and has little clippies for mum to clip pictures of me on it! she's going to put it in her office. and there are scottie socks and chocolate (her favorites!)

we want to say thank you to our friend jazzi and her mom diana for sending us such wonderful pressies and for organizing the gift exchange for all of us!

ho hum

sigh - mum brought work home with her today. so i just perched here on the back of the sofa and watched the world go by. this is my favorite place to sit and stare! helps me keep an eye on my yard and shout at the darn cats that prowl about!

tis the season

i really like to help mum out sometimes...she needs my advice - like when decorating the tree. she really needed my help then. i told her which ornaments to put where, and made sure everything was, what's the word? tasteful! here is a picture of me "helping"...i don't know why she put those quote marks there - when i asked her to remove them she just pretended she didn't hear me! humph! to be at the whims of your typist!

now that the tree is up and everything is in the right place i continue to help by chasin those darn cats, sammy and charlie, whenever they try to come over and knock the ornaments off or chew up the ribbons!

taco day is finally here!

i've been waiting and waiting and it's finally here - taco day!! me and my friend jazzi are hosting taco day. check out her bloggie for the details! you should all talk to your peeps and get them to make you some tacos too! my mum made me this tasty one with the yummy soft shell. don't worry - she took out the toothpick before she gave it to me!

and she was too slow with camera to get a picture of me eatin it - so here's a picture of me lickin the plate clean instead. it was soooo good!

excuse my absence!

i visited my gramma and papa's house again for the holiday and wasn't able fiddle on their computer. i'm just now recovering from all the turkey! it was a lovely weekend...except for one thing. some little humans visited my gramma and papa's house and i was (gasp) closed into the bedroom! can you believe it?! mum said that after "the unfortunate incident" she did not want me provoked into putting my toofers on anyone. i guess i can't really blame her as those little humans like to pull on my beardie and poke me in the eyeballs and chase me all around - and needless to say i don't like it! i'm a scottie dog and it's all little undignified for my liking. so while i barked my head off whilst locked away in the bedroom, in retrospect - maybe it wasn't so terrible afterall...

back from my gramma and papa's house and had a grand time, but i will have to tell you about that tomorrow maybe! rumor has it that our neighbor has a mousie in her apartement. now, that's where my lil friend zoey lives and she just doesn't seem interested in takin care of this problem...the varmint is sleepin in her kennel and munchin on her kibbles!! can you believe the nerve. i have tried to convince mum to let me give it a go - i just *know* i would get that little critter. but she's NO fun and said i can't...somethin about catchin a disease! bah! have you all ever had a varmint in your house? tell my mum i could handle it...

let the good times roll

soon we will be heading to my gramma and papa's house! they have a great big yard with a fence around it so i can go out any time i want. and there are lots of little varmints to chase and leaves to stomp through. oh boy it's gonna be fuuuun! i will tell you guys all about it when i get back!

i just can't explain...

that is me...trying not to make eye contact with my mom. she's disappointed with me.

see that? that is my mum's favorite soft blankie. well for some reason if mum ever leaves this blankie on the sofa...i feel the need to potty on it. everytime. well, guess what mum left on the sofa this morning? i can't explain it. mum's not mad at me just disappointed - which might be just as bad. does anybody else do things like this that you just can't explain?

if only...

that's me beggin in my gramma's kitchen. she always saves me yummy tidbits and puts them in my bowl!

my mum informed me that today at jack-in-the-box they were giving away 2 free tacos. to everyone! if only we had one of those places here in nebraska. i hope for my furend jazzi's sake that they have one of them where she lives!

i got an owie!

i don't know what happened but we went on a walk with by best bud lucas and when i got home i started limping. mum checked my paw pad - nothing there. so she massaged my leggie a little bit and that seemed to help...i hope it's better tomorrow! i got pee mail to tend to! i'm just gonna take it easy tonight.

does not share well with others...

that's my friend zoey. she lives next door, she is just a tiny little thing. anyway - she came over to visit me tonight and she went to my toy basket and got a bone. it was as big as her head. well, i'm not very good at sharin my things. so i snuck it when she wasn't looking. and then i laid down on it and hid it from her. she stood in front of my and cried and no one knew why she was cryin...but then i got up and they all saw that i was hidin her, rather *my* bone. mum said i was bein selfish and had a whole basket of bones. sigh...what's a dog to do?

you wouldn't believe it...

you wouldn't believe it from this picture, but last night was a winter wonderland!! the snow was coming down in those big, wet, ploncky sort of flakes! mum and i did a bit of frolicking - we both love snow. she made hot cocoa with peppermint and marshmallows, and i got have some popcorn and we all snuggled on the couch and watched it snow. even charlie - who usually doesn't grace us with her presence when i am out and about.

i got caught...

well - last night mum woke up in the middle of night. she caugh me red pawed. snuggled up in the middle of our bed - with that guy, up there. that's right...sammy cat and i were snuggling. now you know.

in my defense - the window was open and it was awful cold! i still don't like him, i know he's up to no good, always trying to get me in trouble! it was purely a matter of survival...and maybe, sometimes, it is a little nice to snuggle with a cat...maybe. but you didn't hear it from me!

what have i been missing?!

here's the thing...my blog friend jazzi talks about how much she loves tacos. and i've been very confused because my mum always told me that tacos were for people, not doggies. well tonight mum made tacos for dinner.

they look good, huh? well she left them unattended for just a second or two...and guess what happened?


that's right! i nabbed em! jazzi was right! they are deeeelicious! i wonder what we are having tomorrow?

allow me to introduce myself...

me and my mum

hi folks - edgar here. i had a talk with my mum and after going round and round i convinced her that no one wants to read about her dating follies or what she made for dinner last night. although, last night she made a roasted pumpkin and wild rice dish and i got to eat the pumpkin's guts! mmmm...i love me some pumpkin guts! anyway - we decided that i would take over the blog and that she could jump in every now and then. so, let me introduce myself. i am edgar osmond macgregor. i am 3 years old and was born in oklahoma. my mum and grandpeeps drove all the way from nebraska to pick me up and bring me home. i live with my mum and my feline siblings - charlie and sammy.
that's sammy on the left, he's 14. charlie is on the right and she is 9...mum was stuck in the past and thought they were younger - but they aren't. they don't like me very much. i can't imagine why, they are so much fun - my favorite game is "chase the cat". my favorite things are walkies with my best friend lucas. he lives downstairs and is a big yellow lab - he's my best doggie bud in the whole world! brussels sprouts, de-stuffing my toys, napping on the back of the sofa, chasing the cats, and gosh - a whole bunch of stuff! things i don't like - varmints! squirrels, skunks, chippies, cats (except for mine), possums - all those pesky things! bikes, roller blades, skate boards and scooters. i HATE em! i even tried to run after a motorcycle once...thankfully mum stopped me. and sometimes, only sometimes i don't like other people walkin on the sidewalk with us...there was an unfortunate incident when one particularly bold one walked too close and i maybe brushed her leg with my snappy teeth and i got in big trouble with the doggie police...but mum gets grumpy when we talk about that unfortunate incident...i really am a good boy - it was all a misunderstanding!

anyways! that's enough for now...i look forward to telling you all about me and my little adventures!

the wonderful world of dating

apparently there is a (less than a) gentleman out there who thinks that i was at his house this weekend...and that we made out! even after i tried to correct his memory he was adamant that i was there, wearing jeans and a "sparkly" shirt. anyone who knows me knows that there is not even a hint of a sparkly shirt to be had in my wardrobe. if only my weekend was as eventful as he seems to be convinced it was!

my cold has meant that poor little edgar has not been getting his walkies in, which means that he has been extra interested in poor sammy and charlie. thankfully, his best buddy lucas (the yellow lab) downstairs popped up to say hello. i have some friends that can just add animals to their house willy-nilly and no one seems to care...not here - there is a fine balance that is easily upset!

ah the forgotten blog!

edgar is registered for a christmas exchange put on by a fellow blogger and through the process i remembered that i actually have a blog! we'll see what happens with this - perhaps i will continue it.
