heartbreaking

it's edgar's mum here...there is terrible news in the dog blogging community today and i just can't get it out of my head. i had never read their blog, but saw a post on another...the
houston pittie pack. their home was destroyed in a fire. all of the humans got out safely and two of their dogs...but they were unable to save the remaining 5 dogs. i just can't imagine what they must be going through. mayzie and her peeps set up a way to help...if you would like to pitch in please visit her blog here

the indignity...

oh dear me...can everyone see my paw-paw? do you know what she did to me? well...i have a paw pad that a few months ago was all icky and infected (mum thinks maybe i stepped on a small shard of glass from all those broken wine glasses mentioned in my previous post) but i had to go to the vet and she wrapped it all up and i had to take pills...

well this morning i was licking and licking my paw paw and mum took a look at it and there's a small part that is red again. so she took one of her running socks and put it over my paw paw! and then - wrapped masking tape around it!! can you believe the nerve? it looks so foolish for a scottie such as myself to have an old gym sock taped around his paw paw! don't you think? i hope no one notices...

a tribute my friend lucas

that big guy right there is lucas - he's 6 months younger than me, and a yellow labrador retriever - and he's my best freind. seriously, like my brother from another mother. his mum and my mum are real good friends too. we would all go for long walks together almost every day - and even with my short little leggies, i could keep up with lukey. there was one time when there was a duck in the little pond at the gardens and he jumped right in to get it...not me, i hate the water!
his mum and my mum would get together and drink wine together (they lived right downstairs) and lucas would always knock over the wine glasses with his big ole tail! wine and glass everywhere! bol! and our favorite game is something mum calls "dust mop dog". we get a toy and lucas holds one end and i the other and then i would flop down frog dog style and lucas would pull me all over the living room! boy that was fun.

anyway, lucas and his mama moved away about a month ago to colorado. and gosh we sure miss them. for awhile i kept forgetting they were gone and i'd sit down in front of his door when we came in from outside, wishing i could play with him. does anybody else have a best friend? do they live close? i sure miss mine...

i'm back!

okay...so my mum says we are going to try to better at this again...we'll see how she keeps that...what's that they say about the road to hell? bol.

anyway, she's back from that mayo place & says she's done with surgeries and bein sick, and i'm going to hold her to that. thanks for all your good wishes for her by the way. but look what happened while i was at my grandad's when she was gone...


i got powdered with flour by the grandbaby!! i'm a scottie - we are dignified - not to be covered in bread ingredients. she says she's not leaving me for a long long time.

hot!

we had some respite from the heat here last week, but today it's back with gusto. the heat index thingy was 105 degrees here today! bleh - it's just too hot out for anything! here is a picture of me from a snow day last winter...i am hoping it helps cool me off!
my mama would like apologize for our being absent for such a long time. she has been traveling to mayo clinic for some sickie problems she's having. she assures me it is nothing serious but would appreciate any prayers. she has to go back one more time to have some surgeries...gulp... i've been hanging with my granddad when she's gone and having the whole yard to myself, a real treat since we don't have a fence at home! mama says she missed me terribly and that i would have made her feel bunches better if i were there. to be honest though...i sorta enjoyed having some boy time with granddad. on the downside - she thinks i found some yummy poo treats in the yard and contracted...wormies! now i have to go to dr. tina's on thursday...

itchy scratches!

hi everyone - happy fourth of july weekend! my tummy is feeling much better, but now i have a bad case of the itchies...thanks to my friend stuart for posting about my little problem and thanks to everyone for their helpful suggestions. i've been getting some cheese wrapped benadryl to help with the itching and got a bath with some medicated shampoo - that was torture let me tell you! but it all seems to be helping - i'm still itchy, but i can sleep without scratching like crazy...
we hope you all have some fun at a barbeque or something! me - i'll be hanging with my grandpeeps hoping there aren't too many fireworks going off!
