7 things about me!!

my friend stuart the scottie awarded me with the versatile blogger! what an honor...according to the rules posted on his page i am supposed to put the versatile blogger award picture on my page, but, um...my mum doesn't know how to do that. sheesh-you know what they say about good help! and i'm supposed to tell you 7 things about myself...wow-i hope i can think of 7 things you don't know about me. and then i am supposed to tag more pups. since i think most everyone i would tag have already been tagged - so i'm going to make it an open invite! if you would like to participate, please do!! here goes:

1. i was born in ok-la-homa - where the wind comes sweeping down the plain! my mum drove all the way from nebraska to pick me up.
2. i was dubbed the smartest in my litter because i was the first to figure out the doggie door when i wanted to go outside.
3. we don't have a doggie door anymore - but we do have bells on the door and i trained my mum to take me outside whenever i ring them...it really happened that way too - i trained her, not the other way around!
4. in my puppy kindergarten class i was dubbed a bully - just because there was a shy doxie that i wanted to play with...vigorously - i'm a scottie! give me a break!
5. i LOVE brussels sprouts and colli-flower and green beans - i love when mum makes something with those and i get the scraps!
6. i had a harrowing adventure as a wee pup where i fell out the window of the car as mum was turning a corner. obviously i was okay, but i *always* wear a seat belt in the back seat now...no riding on top of the car for me!
7. i love to visit my grannie and grampa and play in their backyard. one time i almost caught a rabbit...but mum interfered - sheesh!

so there you have it - you know 7 more things about me!!

christmas goodies!

you all know that my secretary is not the best known to dog...she's typically a day late and a dollar short and does not keep up with my posts as i would like her to - so our apologies for the tardiness of this post.

i got the greatest pressies in the mail from jazzi's gift exchage! bobo and meja had my name and they sent me a big ole box with my name on it! mum helped me open it and inside was this giant stocking stuffed full of toys, and a package of roll ups *and* a package of chicken treats!
can you see everything in the picture?? there's a doggie with a squeaker, a bone with a squeaker, 3 balls and two more squeaky toys...umm - there were 3 more, but i destuffed one already!

heartbreaking

it's edgar's mum here...there is terrible news in the dog blogging community today and i just can't get it out of my head. i had never read their blog, but saw a post on another...the
houston pittie pack. their home was destroyed in a fire. all of the humans got out safely and two of their dogs...but they were unable to save the remaining 5 dogs. i just can't imagine what they must be going through. mayzie and her peeps set up a way to help...if you would like to pitch in please visit her blog here

the indignity...

oh dear me...can everyone see my paw-paw? do you know what she did to me? well...i have a paw pad that a few months ago was all icky and infected (mum thinks maybe i stepped on a small shard of glass from all those broken wine glasses mentioned in my previous post) but i had to go to the vet and she wrapped it all up and i had to take pills...

well this morning i was licking and licking my paw paw and mum took a look at it and there's a small part that is red again. so she took one of her running socks and put it over my paw paw! and then - wrapped masking tape around it!! can you believe the nerve? it looks so foolish for a scottie such as myself to have an old gym sock taped around his paw paw! don't you think? i hope no one notices...

a tribute my friend lucas

that big guy right there is lucas - he's 6 months younger than me, and a yellow labrador retriever - and he's my best freind. seriously, like my brother from another mother. his mum and my mum are real good friends too. we would all go for long walks together almost every day - and even with my short little leggies, i could keep up with lukey. there was one time when there was a duck in the little pond at the gardens and he jumped right in to get it...not me, i hate the water!
his mum and my mum would get together and drink wine together (they lived right downstairs) and lucas would always knock over the wine glasses with his big ole tail! wine and glass everywhere! bol! and our favorite game is something mum calls "dust mop dog". we get a toy and lucas holds one end and i the other and then i would flop down frog dog style and lucas would pull me all over the living room! boy that was fun.

anyway, lucas and his mama moved away about a month ago to colorado. and gosh we sure miss them. for awhile i kept forgetting they were gone and i'd sit down in front of his door when we came in from outside, wishing i could play with him. does anybody else have a best friend? do they live close? i sure miss mine...
