Merry Christmas my furiends!! Many blessings to you and yours! 

My New Sweet Furiend

Every year mum signs me up to pawticipate in Jazzi's Christmas Exchange - it's so much fun to send and receive gifts from a blogville furiend.  Well this year I was supposed to get gifts for Angus McConnell.

 He's a little pug that lives with Stella Rose and Maggie Mae.  Well, mum and I shopped for little Gussie and mum imprudently left Gussie's Christmas snacks on the kitchen table...so - I scooched a chair over and helped myself.  Mum sent Gussie an email to let him know that his package would be late because she needed to get new treats for him.  Do you know what Gussie said?  He said that he and his sisters were so blessed and received so many gifts this year that he would like me to donate his pressies to the Humane Society in my area!  Little Gussie is not even one year old and already has a heart of gold!  So after the holidays, mum and I are going to take his pressies to the Humane Society for some special little doggie there so they have toys to play with till their forever family finds them!

These are the toys I got for Gussie...do you think that the pups at the shelter will like them?  I think I got the best gift of all this year - a new blog furiend with a heart of gold!  

Cookie Day!

Mum's not entirely sure how to join blog hops. It didn't work last time. However, we made cookies! And Daisy is hosting a cookie day blog hop. 

Mum and her goddaughter made cookies! 

The best part is that they were cookies for ME!!!! Here's how they made them: mix 2 cups of flour with 3 jars of baby food, add some crumbled BACON and roll it out, cut with bone shaped cookie cutters. Then bake at 350 for 40 minutes; turn off the oven and leave the cookies in overnight so they dry out and get really crunchy. Eat and repeat! They were DELICIOUS!! I highly recommend them!

It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas

Well, the cards are rolling in and I have 17 to mum's 2. Tee hee! It's been uncommonly cold here this past week and mum has been grumbling "if it's going to be this cold it could at least snow!"  Well...it did! This is what we woke up to: 

Pretty, huh? Mum and I both love snow! We don't understand people that gripe about it. Do you like snow, or are you in the griping category?

My Sissy, Charlie

My sissy Charlie has never cared for me. I've mostly only ever seen her tail end as she's running away from me. Even before I came along, mum said she was exceptionally shy and frequently hid under the bed. Well, look what happened tonight!

That's right...that's Charlie and me, within a foot of one another on the big bed! She's been much more friendly and adventurous since Sammy passed away. (She dashed off not even two minutes after this was taken, but it's progress nonetheless!)

Oh the Humanity!

She thinks it's cold and so she's making me wear this silly sweater! She says it's "soooo handsome"...I think it's just ridiculous!

A Visit With the Hungarians

Tonight mum and I went to visit our furiends, the Hungarian Viszlas, Sam and Vegas, and their mum. They also have two felines and I'm on the lookout! They are F-U-N to chase!!

And thank you to everyone for their condolences for Sammy. We know he's in a better place and waiting for us at the bridge and mum's eyes have stopped leaking so often too. 

Run Free Sweet Sammy

Edgar's mum here: we are mourning the loss of our sweet Sammy Cat, Edgar's feline older brother.  He lived a long and loved life, but his health had declined so that I no longer felt he had much enjoyment in his days.  He was diagnosed with kidney insufficiency a couple of months ago and put on a special diet, which seemed to help at first.  However over the weekend he stopped eating and seemed to be getting worse. I decided today that it was time for Sammy to go to the Bridge. We will all miss him and can't wait to meet him at the Bridge.

Ahhh, It's Fall!

Mum is so pleased that the chilly weather has finally made it's return. She says it's because she likes the season best. Pumpkins and cider and Thanksgiving. I think it's really because when the weather turns cold, I turn cuddly. Normally I'd prefer to sit near her, but when it's cold, I like to sit *on* her! And she loves it!

Another Sad Day In Blogville

Peeps, you should all hug your furry ones extra tight tonight, for there is so much sadness in Blogville.  Mum just read to me on facebook that our furiend Benny of Two French Bulldogs lost his battle with liver cancer.  I didn't know Benny very, very well, but, he and his sister, Lily brought us so many smiles.  He fought so hard and was such an inspiration.  I know he will be greatly missed in Blogville. He truly was a little super hero!

Under the Weather

Hi furiends...thanks for your well wishes for Sammy.  He's still adjusting to his new food, but otherwise doing good!

In other news...I'm not feeling so hot. Mum thinks I ate something I shouldn't have or maybe that I have a bug. Maybe I ate a bug? Anyway...it's been two days of restricted food, having my bum furs wiped with baby wipes when I come in from outside, being confined to the kitchen when mum's at work, and her cleaning up lots of messes in the living room when she gets up in the morning. Dr. Tina says I may need an ant-i-bi-otic, whatever that is. On the up side...the restricted food I get to eat is chicken and rice!!

POTP needed for Sammy Cat

Hi everyone - I was just wondering if everyone out there in Blogville could send some Power of the Paw to my feline big brother, Sammy.  Sammy just came home today after spending two days at the vet.  Dr. Tina says that he is in the beginning stages of renal (kidney) failure and that his kidneys are functioning at 30%.  He is 18 years old and now only weighs 6 pounds.  He used to be a great big, chubby kitty. Dr. Tina is hopeful that a special diet of prescription cat food will help and make him feel better.  She also gave him some fluids while he stayed with her (whatever that means).

When mum picked him up today he had a diarrhea accident *and* had thrown up in his carrier on the way home...mum felt awful that he had to ride all that way in that mess, and her eyes started to leak.  I tried to help her by "cleaning up" the carrier while she was trying to give Sammy a bath, but she got mad and made me go to my kennel...I was just trying to help.  Anyways, mum is really worried about the old guy, so if you could please keep him in your thoughts, I just know she would appreciate it!

Husker Dog

I may have been born in Oklahoma, but my loyalty is to my mum. And she is a Husker, so naturally I'm a Husker too. I don't really care all that much about football, but mum is a fan. She got out my Husker collar for the first game of the season, which is on Saturday. I'm going to stay here in the air conditioning with my spiffy collar while she gets heatstroke at the game...seems like the smarter thing to do, and I'm no dummy! 

Mopey Monday

I had to take a bath. She said I stank...that's rude right?

Mum has this stupid hobby. She calls it crocheting. I call it a waste of time. She makes things like this...dumb, right?








 Why crochet a dog when you have a real dog right here next to you that you are neglecting?!

So sometimes when mums at work, I do this to her supplies.

Then, when mum tells me how disappointed she is, I make this face, and she forgives me.
 

I don't mean to disappoint her, I just want her to find a new hobby...like walkies. Or tug time. Or stare at me adoringly. Is that too much to ask??

 

Flashback Friday

This is me when I was just a wee little pup.  I was still in Oklahoma, before mum came all the way from Nebraska to get me and bring me home to live with her.  See - I had one ear up and one ear down!  Mum was told that I was the smartest of my brothers and sisters; I was the first puppy to figure out how to use the doggy door. And mum would tell you that I am still pretty smart in my adult years!

Tuckered Out Tuesday

Momma and I had some visitors yesterday. Two little humans and their adult. We ran around and they chased me. And even though momma explained over and over that I would not sit *on* a lap, I would sit next to them, I kept getting hauled on to someone's lap. I'm exhausted! Mum says I was a very good boy, after all I am a Scot, and I have little tolerance for such shenanigans. Now, I'd just like to stay here in bed and snooze all day! Yawn...

Home Sweet Home

Well, mum is back from her vacation and we are spending a last evening together before she has to go back to the grind, whatever that is. The cicadas are out singing their songs. Here are some pictures from mum's trip...

And now we are back! I sure missed everyone in blogville! I had lots of fun at Grammy and Grampy's house though. I took real good care of them!

Separation Anxiety

Mum has already called to say she misses me. I'm having a great time with Grammy and Grampy. Besides, mum is the one that decided to to take a human only vacation. Without ME!!

Coffee Date

Mum and I are having some quality time this morning. She got up early so she could hang with me and drink coffee out of her new Scottie mug. See, she's going on a vacation in a few days and between you and I, I think she's going to miss me terribly. I'm going to be staying with Grammy and Grampy. However this trip will be a little different. The beautiful old maple tree that grew in my yard there fell on the house in a bad thunderstorm last month and now the whole tree is gone :( Mum is very sad about this and doesn't even want to see what my yard looks like now...the other thing -when the tree fell it took out the fence, so I will not be able to run free into yard this time, and that makes me a little sad too. But I know that I will have a blast and get spoiled anyway! I just hope that she doesn't miss me too much....

Oh my, is it morning already? Mum caught my sleeping with my leggies up in the air! Anyone else ever sleep like that?

Phew! That's so much better! I can see again and I will be cooler in the hot, hot weather! Here are a couple of pics of my new haircut. I'm looking pretty dapper if I do say so myself!

Wait!! I'm not ready for my close up! Can anybody see me in here? How did my fur get this outta control? Has it been that long since my last haircut?? Good thing mum made me an appointment for Friday morning! I'll have her retake my close up so y'all can compare and contrast!

They Say It's My Barkday!

I'm six today! And look at the pressies I got from momma! A new kong wubba (I shredded my last one) and two (TWO) cow toes, and a little bag of goodies! I sampled the cranberry biscotti tonight and mum says I have to save the rest for later. I think I'll settle in for a good chew with my new cow toe...I wonder which one I should chew first?

Summer nights

Summer is here for sure, it's been real toasty. At night I like to start on the big bed with mum, but usually end up on the bathroom floor, next to the air register, super cool! Where do you guys like to hang out in the heat?

I'm thinking...making a mental checklist. Frontline, check...travel kennel, check...sports bra walking harness, check...food and treats, check. See my momma's feeling much better (thanks for the well wishes) and her annual birthday camping trip is this weekend! We are hitting the road tomorrow...think she'll let me have some s'mores??

Mundane Monday

Momma is sick. We are bored. Somebody tell me a story! Or take me on a walkie!  Momma's not very helpful right now, I've been watching tv out the front window and trying to give her snuggles to help her feel better.
