Unfair Friday

Yesterday mum noticed that the old timer, Sammy cat hadn't been eating the past few days. So this is what happened...she went and got him nommy food from a can. See him gobbling it up? You might have to biggify the picture to see me, I'm the black blob ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GATE! She locked me out! How unfair is that? She acts like I would just shove the frail old man outta the way! Oh wait...I may have shown a pattern of that. Still, horribly unfair!

Walk about Wednesday - this old house second edition

This is another old house we walk by on our walkies. It's called the Ferguson house and is another historic house. Now it is no longer used as a house but people can rent it for parties and such. Maybe mum will rent it for a blogville barkday party!!

A mini vacation

Mum and her fella took a little road trip to go to some people thing called a concert. That means I got to stay with my Gran and Grampy!! Their house is super fun and I have a real big yard there! We play this fun game where they let me outside and go sit down and I bark at the door so they get up and let me in, over and over! Mum says they should get a doggy door, but I think that would spoil our fun! Gran and Grampy don't take pictures, so mum is going to share some from her trip. I think you will like the last one the best! I know it's my favorite.

She didn't buy these scottie cookies, but she did stop at the doggie bakery and got me some carob dipped strawberry creme cookies! They weren't around long enough for a picture though!

Park day

In honor of Finn & Gizmo's Park Day I wanted to show you around one of the parks near my house. This is called Hazel Abel Park. Hazel Abel was the first woman in Nebraska to serve in the U.S. Senate.  She was elected to complete the term of a Senator who had died in office.  She only served from Novermber 1954 - December 1954.  We don't know about her polictics, but she sure has a nice little park.

These are some old columns in the park.  The city just renovated the entire park...they kept some of the old things, like the columns and the black iron fence.

And they added some new things like this cute elephant sculpture.  They replaced all of the old (and dangerous looking) play structures and modernized things a bit. In the summer time there are beautiful flowers all around too.

This is me posing by the fountain.  The fountain is original to the park; when the warmer weather comes it will be filled with water and make lovely splooshy sounds.  When I was just a wee pup, mum brought me to this park on one of our walkies.  She picked me up and put me on the side of the fountain just like I am now, so she could take a picture...and then I fell in!  Yep, I just fell right into the water and mum had to fish me out.  Phew, I'm real glad she was close by because with my tiny puppy legs and my giant puppy head, I'm afraid I wouldn't have made it out by myself!

This is another neat old structure in the park.  Hazel Abel park is right in the middle of an old neighborhood and takes up about 1/4 of the city block...a small, but lovely treasure in my little Nebraska city.
Thanks for coming on a little tour with me!
